COVID GUIDELINES CHANGING STATEWIDE

Governor Inslee will officially lift the emergency proclamation set in place in February of 2020 at the end of this month. This means that most department of health requirements regarding Covid-19 will change to recommendations. This also shifts the authority from the Department of Health to Local Health Jurisdictions statewide.

Dr. Barbara, Director of Health and Human Services for the Colville Tribe has given PSIS the following guidance:

With the sunset of the emergency declaration and the change in the COVID guidance from the CDC, we will now be treating COVID-19 as endemic in society.  All of your standard protocols for any sick child will apply (children who are actively sick with a fever or vomiting should be sent home).  No COVID-19 tests will be required for staff or students, and ongoing surveillance will not be required.”

PSIS will continue to test students, staff, or family members if requested. We will also supply take-home tests if requested, as supplies allow.

Please contact the school nurse at PSIS with questions regarding these changes, or if you would like to pick up some take home tests - 509-422-7704
